TJ’s Inspiration: Painting, Film, and More

Inspiration is a tricky thing to define. It seems to be something new every time it appears. It could be love, it could be hate, it could be hunger or the “Common Good”. As inspiration is not a solid matter but an energy that causes a reaction I can honestly say what inspires me today may not tomorrow. If I am honest I can tell you that I have been motivated by many different things. Since I am published in books, newspapers and music as well as my work featured on television, most of my “inspiration” comes from a desire to achieve. As the id works on the ego does to accomplish. You see all men and woman are ego motivated. At the core of every inspiration is the mind of a moth. When light does enter the mind as inspiration, it calls to the ego and id to achieve or attempt to achieve and end. The first time I saw a Monet painting it was inside some ones house. I looked at the strokes and they drew tears to my eyes, because for years I had been motivated to paint by my great reverance for paintings. In that moment I understood part of the painting language when I examined the work within inches of it. I could see where Monet was hurried, where he was deliberate and I knew then that I was was becoming literate in the language of art. The one beyond the simple observation of the art. That has inspired me ever since. You see I never met him, didn’t read much about him, until then and had never seen a painting by him in person. I was drawn to tears beacause I felt I knew him for a moment. that he had left in his strokes a message for me that I could pick up 100 years later…the message was “Paint”.

There are no artists, only those who love art and begin to make it themselves. I am leaving a record behind now so that someones grand child can pick it up 100 years from now. I hope the record inspires them.

What Inspired BlogInspire’s Founder ABCrane to Her Project?

Dear Friends, Colleagues, Affiliates, and Strangers,
What inspired me to this great idea, Project Integrity International? This is the question that is most often posed to me when sharing the overview and details of my project with others. Truthfully, I had to think about this. Was it compassion? World peace? The search for truth? Or more selfishly, was this an act of intellectual gratification, psychological satisfaction, a most ecstatic charging of my imagination?
Yes, it was for all of these reasons that I set out to write the book, devise the plan, and execute the strategy.
But there was something else, another motivation lurking within the far recesses of my mind–a mind that had, since my birth, been bogged down with the idle chatter of small talk, destructive gossip, and other such mindless ramblings. My mind craved sense, to make sense, and to be sensible. I began to witness this useless babble reflected in the mirror of world politics, world economy, and “culture”. Yet, in the edges of the mirror I saw shards of sense–in the writings of Marx, in the speeches of Martin Luther King, in brilliant documentaries, in sustainable innovations, and in the choice of simple living. Beyond the glare of our collective nonsense I saw shimmers of hope, common sense–and the logic of environmental conservation. I examined thoroughly the parts of the whole and the whole of the parts, how they all pieced together. I saw reflected in the good the bad and in the bad the good, or more scientifically, the effective in the ineffective and the ineffective in the effective. I saw revolutions of higher consciousness disintegrate back into religions of oppression and dogma. I witnessed greedy corporations “giving back” and charities embezzling funds. I saw the paradox in the mirror, staring back, confused and in awe. I wondered…what is my inspiration for PII, this plan for a new economic system, this dream for a better world?
Beyond the compassion, the truth-seeking, the dream of world peace–there was the thirst for common sense, the hunger for logic, the desperate need for a structure that matched and mirrored the awe-inspiring organizational framework of the human body, brain, and heart–the perfection of a natural world that does not waste.
PII was the satisfaction of this thirst, this deep desire for the justice that only reason could bring to a starving humanity, to a dying earth.
Let us move forward, as a people, as a life-force. Before we can swim in the sea of love, we must first trek through the forest of reason. Time has come. Let us think, feel and act our way to a better world for all.
